"Being healthy and fit just gives you a whole new perspective on life, but it's not just that. The atmosphere at CrossFit Central is one that actively promotes bettering yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This has intentionally or unintentionally created a little voice inside of me that says today and every day that I AM healthy, I AM fit, I AM an athlete, I CAN do things that I never thought that I could do, life IS AWESOME!"

Though reluctant at first to join CrossFit, Ashley made the commitment and has seen amazing results!

"Prior to joining CrossFit Central I was working a lot as a server and living a pretty unhealthy lifestyle which included a lot of not caring what I ate, not working out and a lovely smoking habit. Physically the only thing that I can say I did that took any kind of effort was being on my feet at work. I lacked confidence in my abilities, I had a negative body image and I always had an excuse why I couldn't or didn't want to do CrossFit."

"Since Joining the CrossFit Central community I have done things that I never imagined that I would do. This summer I think that I have seen the most results of any time since I started to CrossFit. I began to eat paleo/zone along with CrossFit Central indoor classes and within two months my body changed more than I ever thought it could. I truly believe the things that I have learned at Central about health and wellness as well as getting me in the best shape of my life and introducing me to so many amazingly uplifting and positive people - is priceless."

"I am now 21 weeks pregnant now and have been faithfully CrossFitting the entire time and plan on going as long as my body will let me. Thankfully CrossFit is amazing and molds to any one's abilities and needs. I believe that continuing to work out helps me every day with my energy level, my self image and will ultimately help me in my labor/birth/recovery. I also believe that by staying active during my pregnancy will help me be able to return to CFCentral sooner and get my pre-pregnancy body back faster!"

"I didn't really get into endurance sports until I moved to Austin, where I switched from mountain biking to road cycling and started teaching spin classes. Cycling turned into triathlon, and after my first triathlon (Jack's Generic in 2007), I had a terrible time with the run, so I decided to focus on that by training for half marathons. I did about a year of the long-slow training, and I got through my first 2 half marathons right around 2 hours. But I was missing something, and I couldn't really put my finger on it. All the training programs tell us to do "core work," but they never say what you should do."

"I joined my first CrossFit Boot Camp around May of 2008. After about a month, I started feeling better overall. Stronger, faster, sharper. A few months later, I joined the Indoor program and left the long-slow world behind. Using the CrossFit training model with an endurance focus, I ran no more than twice a week, very few long runs, and completed the San Antonio Half Marathon in 1:46 -- about 20 minutes faster than the Austin Half I did earlier that year! I finished this year's Austin Half right around the same time, which is awesome considering how much more difficult the course is. I've lost about 25 pounds since I started CrossFit, down to about 8% body fat."

"I can't say enough about what CrossFit's done for my life. In every realm -- work, home, sport -- I feel stronger, more confident, and more prepared to deal with what life throws at us daily."

Olivia's Story

"I now think of myself as a strong, athletic woman, capable of anything."

I began CrossFit two months after I had my first baby. I had gained 50 pounds during my pregnancy and was anxious to get it all off! I had begun working out 2 weeks after the baby was born - mostly just walking & sit ups, but the weight wasn't going anywhere! I lost an initial 20 lbs straight out if the hospital but what was I going to do with the remaining 30? And it wasn't budging!

Emotionally, I have experienced the incredible joy of meeting & getting to know my little amazing bundle of joy, while at the same learning how to let go of my career and the life I know to adapt to this new one....lets just say BIG changes. I am also a single mother, so the stress levels and worries of that can be very trying. The lack of sleep with a baby is exhausting. I would say mentally & emotionally I have been through a lot the past 2 years...both wonderful yet stressful. My pregnancy had also changed my body drastically and scared the life out of me that I would never have my body back.

Within 3 months I had lost most of the "baby weight" and was nearly back down to my normal weight. I am now trimmer, leaner & stronger than I was even before the baby...thanks to my inspiring sister and coach, Jessica and CrossFit!

I now think of myself as a strong, athletic woman, capable of anything. I honestly did not think I would last a month in CrossFit Women's class, it just seemed too hard and I didn't consider myself athletic enough to be able to do any of it. I have sailed right on through that thought and I now know I can push my body and mind beyond any limits.

Lost over 30lbs, dropped 13% body fat, 4 inches, & 5 dress sizes!

I am so much stronger emotionally, mentally & physically! I was terrified to do CrossFit and didn't think I could handle it. Just 4 months I have noticed muscle definition in my arms, abs, back & legs. My knees, which have bothered me for 8 years are suddenly fine, which I think is due to new found muscle strength. CrossFit has given me confidence and mental clarity to believe in myself and the possibilities. I have a ton more energy and just feel physically fit, healthy & strong.
